His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh
It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
The Cathedral joins with people around the world in mourning his loss and gives thanks for his extraordinary life of service to Her Majesty The Queen and the Commonwealth. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
With deep sorrow, we offer our prayers for Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family at this time. The following prayer comes to us from the Church of England:
God of our lives,
we give thanks for the life of Prince Philip,
for his love of our country,
and for his devotion to duty.
We entrust him now to your love and mercy,
through our Redeemer Jesus Christ.
